OK, so we have Form I, Form III and the Letter Combos all printed out to practice. Hurray! and thanks to all who helped with that.
Yes, LA Jedi is for the fun, but we all like to feel we at least sort of know what we're doing.
In that vein, could someone print out the instructions for Form V, Jump So, so those of us who wish can review it on our own?
Thanks.

Aye! So far, as far as I know there is no video or print out of Form V-Djem-So. There is a YouTube video, but it's poor quality - done in the dark and not too informative on the movements.
If there is anyone that can dispute this, PLEASE let me know! Also, I heard that some folks at NYJedi are working on a video for this form (but their online forums are still down so there is no way of getting a hold of anyone there - they don't answer their emails very often either.
I also made this offer on PAJedi....if there are any other forms that need documentation, and if no one has created them yet - I would be glad to work on putting one together. Since no form is "official" or "canon" that could be exciting...and since we're on the West Coast, over 3000 miles away from NY Jedi who develops some of the forms, we can contribute as well.

Since we did Djem-So in class Saturday, hopefully one of the instructors can find time in their busy schedule to write out the instructions.
I do not have access to You-Tube--at all--anywhere. Not at home. Not at work. Not at the library. Please do not suggest any You-Tube solutions to me until I state otherwise...and I promise, you will all know. I will be talking & posting about it like crazy. I will be so happy. But, I do not have it now. I have not had You-Tube access yesterday or any time previous and, unless I win the lottery or a brand new computer, I will not have You-Tube access next week or the week after either.
Why the whole paragraph? Ask RebelScum, Adobe Wan, RamZnation or Torlin. They will all get the 'joke.'

Maybe on Thursday I can take step-by-step pictures of someone doing our forms, and i can make you a picture-play book, or take what Caine wrote in MSword and add the pictures.
or.
I can format the videos on youtube for you so that your computer may veiw it on cd or something. what can your computer play as far as video formats? (wmv, mpg...)

Yeah, Yeah! PLEASE post Djem So on YouTube if possible, or at least Sith Lord's idea of putting pics and instructions on MS Word. Plus, putting it on CD for Varekei and anyone else that doesn't have access to a computer would be cool, too...that way everyone benefits!

Well, if you reread this post you'll see that it is so that we can practice between classes, especially since we can't all be at every class.

well than thats what you have to do.
if you show up to classes, get things smooth, than you can practice on your own.

Some people CAN NOT come to every class. Some people have lives that interfere with that. When I have missed Thursday night class, for instance, it's usually because I am so tired I'm literally falling asleep at 6:00 PM. Some people would like a little extra practice BECAUSE they would like to 'get it smooth.' Some people are quite willing to put in hard work on their own time to make up for being less athletically talented than others.
Being willing to train on ones own should never be poo pooed or frowned on, but, applauded as an example of dedication, even if it's for a 'sport' that is basically 'just for fun.'
If you ever watched the anime 'Naruto' you will remember one character named Lee. Lee never could get the hang of the mind bending, reality altering magic type jiutsus. But because he trained every day until he was ready to drop, he became a 'very splendid ninja,' and one of the best respected rookies of his village.
So, anyway, does that explain why I want the forms written down so I can practice between classes?

But since we started doing Djem So Saturday, they should be written down to keep everyone on the same page, right? Now stop being such a nudge!

I so agree. There are also people like me....who RELY on video and written directions, because we live oh....300 miles from LA and want to learn the forms (Djem So!, Djem So!) Who is going to be the hero on this one and record Djem-So in one way or another? After all, when I come down and visit and meet you guys , and come to a class (hopefully soon!) I want to have a good amount of knowledge so I can keep up with y'all!

Look, guys, Djem-So is in its early stages at LA Jedi, even for the instructors. To make a video or handout of it would be self-defeating, because it's probably going to get modified as we all learn it.
Soresu was done one way at first, then little things were modified, till we arrived at its present form. Same thing with Shii-Cho, though less was modified there...
Varekei, you know as well as I do that if we were to post videos of Djem-So in its current state, you would be the first to gripe and moan when little bits of it are changed.
So, I say this: Be patient, work on refining the forms and letters you DO know, and the rest will come, in time.
