RamZ' Rant: The Terminator

So as most of you know I'm in the middle of finals at school, so I got some rage I want let out. Granted I can't run around the school, with a Red saber I'll jsut rant about nonsense that no one cares.

So over the weekend, I took a break from all my work, and watched a moobie. My pick, the first Terminator. A classic and one of my favorite moobies, but there is something that I noticed since the first time I can remember watching it.

At what point does Arnie get a haricut? In the first half, he's got a nice comb hairdo.


After the chase scene where he wrecks the Cop cruiser, when he's in the Motel (The epic scene where he pops his eye ball out, and takes and exacto knift to cut up his injured arm and plays with a rod with some pliers) Arnie's got a Flat top. Mind you this is in the same night (morning). I'd like to find that barbershop when I need my hairscut at 2am!


Also, over the weekend I found my Robocop Vs. Terminator comic books. Though, I would love to see this as a Moobie, I think I would have to be CG given that Arnie and Peter Weller are now old farts.

C'mon, that second one can't be the governator's real body. I wouldn't expect hime to still look like he did 20 years ago, but I don't believe he's that totally out of shape. This is a photoshop hoax.

I've seen so many of them. Even my sister did one about 2 politicians she hates.

Ramz I am sure the reason for the Haircut is the same as why the writing on the police car changes before and after the crash in that chase scene, Continuity!!!!! But on a realated note check this out:

I saw that photoshop of Arnold a few years ago. Don't believe everything that comes out of the media. In fact, don't believe anything! Remember. Arnie is such a self-disciplined guy that he went from the Austrian army to American icon, with enough achievements along the way to fill ten lives! People who push themselves that hard don't go from the body he had in T3 to that saggy photo-fake in just a year or two (I first saw this image in 2005).

As for the haircut, maybe cyborg hair regresses instead of grows.

As I mentioned before, T1 is one of my favorite movies, my gripe was the haircut. It's obviously fresh when he storkes his hair in front of the mirror. Only thing I can think of is that maybe the robot used (compliments of the late Stan Winston) had the flat top, so Arnie had to cut his hair to match. Since he could have given him self one considering he had the hair cut when he came into the motle room through the windo already.

As far as the Arnie pic, yes it is fake. I just posted that to make my point that unfortunatley Arnie and Peter Weller are now old farts should they make a Robocop VS Terminator movie. It is possible that Weller can still portray his role as Alex Murphy since Robo moves pretty slow due to the Cyborg Chasis being extremly heavy, and the aging on his face can aid to decay since technically he is dead. It's just harder for the T-800 to look exactly the same as he did 24 years ago if it's the same make and Model (2029). The Diff in T3 was that the T-850 was a Model that was not created from Cyberdine Systems' Skynet but from the U.S. Govt out of the old Cyberdine specs in 2032 but still the same type of inflitrator Terminator.

Like I said, it was just a rant. The Wrecked cop car doesn't bug me so much since it's only on that scene.

I, for one, would like to see DIFFERENT faces on Terminators. Remember the flashback in T1? As much as I love the series, and as much hellacious fun as T2 was, it created a problem by having Arnie as the Terminator again, because it canonized all terminators looking like the same guy. Not very smart for an infiltration unit. You'd think the human rebels would suspect anyone who looked like Arnold before long.

So, if the new movies could somehow justify the mass-produced armies of Arnies while at the same time leave room for other faces of T-800s, we could indeed have a RoboCop VS Terminator movie. And if Peter Weller is too old, someone else could wear the suit and he could voice it, kind of like Darth Vader.

The thing with that is that if you rememebr T1; Kyle Reese explains to Sarah that "these are new" refering the to series 800 Terminator since the 600 seriese were the ones with the rubber skin. In he flashback scene I'm guessing that was a 700 series.

Arnie in T3 was an 850 series, so any T-8XX should be Arnie like. Not saying there can't be a 900 series (even though on the T3 game, the were also Arnies, yes I actually plyed and own the game) which can and should look like other people. Just hope they don't have mystery haircuts.

The TV show has them as the T-888 terminators so there is no likeness to Arnie (though the should bare some sort of resmblance). Keep in mind that the show doesn't have Linda Hamilton as Sarah, or Ed Furlong as John Connor (and the actors that play them don't look like them either) so the terminators here can't be Arniei-sh.

The thing is if there were to be a Robocop VS Terminator movie, both Peter Weller and Arnold Schwarzenegger are the two Iconic characters for each role. Not saying anyone else can't. Robert Burke played Robo 3, and as seen in the Show there are many that play Terminators.
