My Grandma wants to let me find out how to make a Jedi Costume for her. My Grandma and I are very close so I think making a costume for her would be really cool. My Grandma is even interested in joining the LAJEDI too. But I think we'll start with designing a Jedi Costume for her. However I'm not sure where to start when it comes to designing it. So would anyone be able to help me Design a Jedi Costume for my Grandma?

Alright thinks for the useful information so far. I forgot to mention this about what kind of Design I was thinking of when creating the Jedi costume for my Grandma. The lower part of the costume would be a long skirt. This will be a interesting Costume to Design I just need the information on how to make it.

Go with the standard designs mentioned in many websites, then use your imagination as far as improvising.

There's a tutorial for canon generic Jedi tunic. home.comcast.net/~jedikai/Most people don't prefer waist seams as it can't really be seen. The purpose for waist seams on the tunic is to flare out like a skirt to match the proportions.

the jedi librarian i thought was a long skirt (don't quote me on that one though) so you might want to search for something on her costume.

If you are too lazy to go to the Site, here is the picture: If you are Familiar with Atris on KOTOR II, you will notice that her tunic is very simialar but in white.

Thanks for all the information. I ordered a book called Dressing a Galaxy: The Costumes of Star Wars. I thought it may be useful. Making a costume for my Grandma is going to be a cool project. Since I have been reading about Costumes. I've been thinking that I could make some small changes to my own costume too. The fact is that there are 3 sides to my character Master DS. The Padawan side, Jedi Knight, and Dark Jedi. So why wouldn't those different sides of my character look different from the other.

Dressing the Galaxy is a fantastic book!
I would also recommend the Visual Guide to books as well as Wookepedia, of course.
Regarding, the "change of clothes" issue. Obi-Wan had 4 costumes in the series. Yoda had at least two or three. The Emperor had a wardrobe I would go to the dark side for. So, who's to say that even Jedi & Sith don't like to change their clothes and wear somewhat different styles to avoid wardrobe boredom?

I have my Jedi Braid now. So I can be the Padawan side of my character now. I think when it comes to making changes to my costume they'll only be slight. Not sure what I could do to make any slight changes yet. There are 3 sides to my Character: Padawan, Jedi Knight and Dark Jedi. Does any have an idea of what I could do to make a slight change to my costume? I know one slight change that will already be in place for the padawan side which is the Jedi braid. I'm looking forward to getting the Dressing a Galaxy: The Costumes of Star Wars book. I think it will arrive at my house tomorrow. The book I've heard has a lot of information about making Star Wars Costumes.

I got Dressing a Galaxy: The Costumes of Star Wars in the mail today (April 18th). It's a really interesting book. I've started reading it a little and I've looked at some of the pictures. The book really gives a lot of information about Star Wars Costume Designing. I'm glad I got it.
