I am looking into getting my next costume on the way, and Id wish to make this. (I wish to have this done before July 2008, for comic con) I have a different red material i can use for the inside of the half robe. Anybody have any ideas on how i can pull this off?

It kind of looks like an X-Men outfit (from the movies) with a few variations. Not sure if you've noticed it. I'm sure you can find something similar to that on ebay. Top: That corset looking plate thing, I'm sure you can find something like that in Hollywood or Melrose (if you are ever in that part of town) Shoulder Bells: Try looking for a piece of Plastic that nobody needs, and mod it for your costume. Same goes for the plates on the biceps and forearms. Even Cardboard might work well. Gloves: Black gloves and some plastic. Boots: You can also look for those in Hollywood/Melrose. *They kind of look like Cosmoe's boots (without the red on them). ...Ask him where he got them. Mask Depending on how you want it. Here is a cheap way: go to Mexican Swap-Meet and find a place that makes "Lucha-libre" masks. Ask how much to custom make one is. I'm sure it won't be too much. Hair: I'm sure you can find a wig pretty much anywhere, maybe a weave shop. * I'm sure Hot Topic at your local mall might have stuff that could come in handy for your costume. You can also ask Shogun Vader how he made his armor using household items. I hope my Helped

It's a cool looking outfit however, isn't it kinda feminine?

I think the only reason the costume might be perceived as feminine is the pinkish color. What if those parts of the costume were more of a blood red? Personally I think it's a really bad ass design!

SDCCI 08 is a few months away. Do you still think you might get it ready by then?

I don't know if you're still doing this TheGreatSaberKeeper, but for the mask, you could buy a Predator Mask (you might have to cut it up a bit) and paint that white with red stripes.
The armor could be done from stuff at any sporting goods store (That's how I pulled off my Scorpion costume ;D) And maybe some cut up PVC pipe pieces to do the chrome parts on the armor.
Hope that helps, and I hope you finish this costume, It's gonna look so awesome! IMO it's like, Vega from Street Fighter meets The Predator meets Raiden from Metal Gear Solid, meets the Imperial Knights.

I hope your still working on this. Hes right, there always next year. No if only i could there next year, lol. The 'robe' looks more like a skirt actually... I would have to say you're going to have a few best friends for this costume. Leather Plastic Spray Paint I'll let you know if I get any ideas for you or find something you can use. I just a moments spur of inspiration... I haven't thought this through yet, though. If you want to make the chrome parts removable, why not run some sort of strapping for them under the red fabric? I dunno, just an idea.

There is next year's ComicCon. There is Wizard World. There is Creation Entertainment's yearly SciFi convention. There is Halloween. There is C5. And there are lots of events at Frank & Sons.
Plenty of opportunities for us all to play dress up. Yay!

Going back to what I mentioned before: Mask - go to a swap meet where they make Lucha Libre masks and ask they guy if he can custom make one for you. overall costume - Try to find a something that looks like it's from the X-men movies. Then Modify it to look like Zal Saram. Boots - Find some Goth/ punk rock store and find a pair and customize them. You can go to a tailer and get a Kama made, similiar to the one I'm making for my Galactic Marine costume but have them match the colors you need. Armor - you can use hockey or foot ball pads which you can find at a sporting goods store.
