Looking for some blade holders for a LUX conversion to do a set (2) of MR FX Mauls, anyone know somewhere other than TCCS or Ultra (Ultra uses Tim's or keeps them plastic). I know Tim is out of them and I'm on the waiting list, but he says he's not going to make up any more. So either I have to find a new source or pay to have them machined.
Any help here would be great.
The Mauls would be great for dueling if the blade holders were stronger.
Anyways, thanks for your time. JP

i know of no one else that has the maul blade holders as i will be needing some for two (yes i said two) sets of blade holders for maul projects. of course i do have my main sith weapon that has been converted already. seriously i have been looking far and wide... if i have to i will have it and the heat sink machined. maybe G-Force can help on this one, or maybe he knows someone that can. if there are people that are willing to split the cost of the blade holders and heat sinks for a maul conversion. like a group order or something. i imagine that the cost would be much less for each of us, as opposed to just one of us getting one set machined. i think that might have been worded all messed up... been drinking a bit and hands are not moving as fast as the brain is. let me know what you think.

If you need 4 and I need 4 that's only 8----- I bet Tim would do a run of 20-- and if that's true than we are a long ways off.
I'm not going to wait too much longer. I'll bust out the caliper and have them made-- or at least check into the price of hving one made.

They are being machined right now-- From what I was told.
At any rate, I emailed TCCS and asked if I could pay for the blade holders now, and was told there would be no need to. He's making plenty. I'll be checking TCSS everyday for a report on them and the day they hit the shelves I'll let you know.
No worries. JP

Order 66 sounds familar---- hummmm I have a sudden urge to.... Must kill Jedi-------
Nope your mind tricks only work on the weak. __________________________ I ordered 2 Amber Luxeon III Stars, Luxeon Collimator Lens 5° viewing angle, Luxeon III/V Lens Holder-- Should I order some new blades and defusers or will the stock blades be ok? Anyone know? I know I'll have to sand down the stock blade a bit-- but other than that is there a big draw back?
All my other conversions for been Ultra DIY kits and I replaced all the blades.

if the blades you are referring to are the Darth Maul blades, be prepared to sand down 1 milimeter of the blade thickness for the three and a half inches or so. it doesn't seem like a lot, but as hard as the blade is, it's going to take a while by hand. i am using one of the maul blades in my Stormtrooper hilt, and the sanding is taking forever!!!
as far as the color of the blades, amber is cool. i am using a true yellow for the custom maul/armstrong saberstaff i am building from an empty maul, that is why i need the cards from a couple obiwans

Thanks for the feed back---
As far as sanding the blade down I have that covered... I have a belt sander that will eat the blade for lunch- just hold it on the sander and let the blade spin on the belt til you have it down to where it needs to be- If you want I'll bring it this Saturday and you can barrow it til next time. What I was really wanting to know (and doing a poor job of asking) is how will the color look without the "Fiber Optic" defuser and the tinted white blade that comes stock on the Maul?
Let me know about the sander BTW.

ok, it won't look too bad, on the fx boards there is a review of the blade film. www.fx-sabers.com/forum/index.php?topic=6888.0now there is talk of using the stock diffuser and some film inside the diffser, but that is kind of technical for me, but there is lots of pics and lots of opinions out there... oh yeah the best part, lots of ideas!!!!!
