Hey guys (and gals). My friend Tess' (Those who went to C:IV will know her as the Female Han Solo) Nephew Dominic is really ill and at the age of 4 is already gone through more pain and suffering than most of us have gone through in our lives. He just got out of the Hospital last night, due to a teminal illness'. It would be great for LAjedi Members to go visit him at home in Apple Valley, CA. (That's about 1/2 south of Barstow, just North of the Cajon Pass comming from San Bernardino on the I-15) in Costume on Sunday March 30th. He's currently a big Fan of Indiana Jones and Believes he's Short Round, so if any one that wants to or can go as Indiana Jones please refer to him as "Shorty". Kury, did you say you were able to take care of that? Also, gifts would be nice to help cheer him up, but not manditory. I'll go in my Standard Jedi costume. Anyone else able to go in costume ? Also, my car is having signs of a possible clutch/transmission falure so I might not be able to drive that day since I plan on getting it serviced once I'm done with finals. Not sure just yet if my truck will be ready by then so I'll have to ride with someone else if that's the case. I'll pitch in for gas and snacks for the road. -RamZ ...Also, his mom told me that they want to plan a massive birthday party for him on Saturday, November 15th and all costumers are invited. Anyone have plans for that day? November is a while away (then again, time does go by quick), so I'm not sure if anyone does yet for that day. I'm sure it will lift his spirits if we attend. Well Im in dude, um if you need me to get you I will...as long as you don't mind riding around in the backseat of a camaro. And ya curey can handle the indie part without a problem. Do you still want to do the green screen thing or just have him on video tape? Well here's my idea dude let's see what you think.
I walk in with a jedi custome the one we were talking about and a little lightsaber. I will say that im looking for dominic that I was sent on an important mission to find the chosen one and now that I found him these things are for him...also I have to show him this movie. *shows movie*...
once it's done...wait...do you feel that...something in the force...and then you all walk in....say hi or whatever you guys want to do...now...you ramz you can break out and say there's someone from an alternate universe a friend who wants to say hello.
and then we break out curey on the video as well...and then I guess we can create a *force* power or something that teleports him into the room or gets him to walk in....and then whatever...
so what do you guys think?

Sounds awesome with me. Not sure how much time I'll have to myself druing my one week spring break to do the green screen video so we go with "Plan B"...find a random BG that could work (maybe some trees or other foliage in a back yard or park that may resemble a forrest or Jungle, maybe a buliding that might look like a cave or temple ...maybe the Tiki-ti just kidding) and tape it there. Though, I can mod a picture with a green screen on photoshop that way he can autograph it for him. ...Then again, there might be some background that can work at Wizard World, and we can do the video with everyone wishing him well there (since it will be the best time for all of us to be at the same pace, same time in costume). Also, I was planing on trying to find him a White NY Mets cap like the one Short Round wore on Temple of Doom for Indy to give him. Only problem Try to find one that's small enough to fit him. His head size for a hat is 45cm. Anyone think they can help me out here?  I don't mind the ride in a small vehicle. ...If I can ride inside a cramped LAV with a bunch of Marines, I'm sure a 2 hour ride in the backseat of a camaro won't be so bad. After all, it will be worth it if we can bring a smile to a very sick kid. |

Well what I have in mind and I need to run this by everyone else...but what would be perfect would be similar to what nyjedi did. Perhaps large battle scene for like a few seconds and then we all stop and say ...oh hi dominic you caught us in the middle of practice we jus wanted to say hello etc etc etc...and...that's what i have in mind but I think we need an actual pow wow tomorrow.

Your idea sounds good, it's pretty much the same thing I had in mind. I'm not sure about the battle scene part since I don't know how big their home is, but I guess if anything we can do it on the front lawn (if it's okay with them). Not sure how the "you caught us in the middle of practice" would work. I saw we leave out the dueling out unless they ask for a demonstration. Lets keep in mind "spacial awareness" if we do anything inside the house. Keep in mind we will be guests. yeah, actually my girlfriend has more than eagerly volunteered to take pictures/film for this shabang. Awesome! She's in! |

The Mets didn't start up as a team until several decades later (1960's, I think), way after the Dodgers left Brooklyn. Did you email anyone in NY Jedi? They might be able to get you one. But it would still make a cool souvineer(?) for the lil dude. Let me know whatcha think and I'll keep lookin for a kids one, but there are over 1,500 yankees caps on ebay...this could take me a while =) |

 Kury, I think it will work. We're short on time and that's the closest Yankees cap to the one Short Round wore on Temple of Doom. Even if it doesn't fit him I'm sure he will love it as a gift. Tori, "you the man for donating a saber for Dominic". She gave us the green light to get ahold of the Media for a fundraiser, so Jen and myself will take care of it tomorrow as well. Dominic's mom has my cell number, and I told her to call me if she has anything thing for us to do or bring. Also, if anyone has anything for them, PM me and I will call her. ...Marius, are you able to go? It be nice to have Darth Maul visit him too. |

I'll post a picture on here maybe tonight. I was thinking the same thing but maybe of a group shot and signing it. Simon, I'm giving you the green light to make that card. We can all sign it on Sunday before presenting it to Dominic. |
