Hello my fellow LAJEDI members, I had a idea for a event that the LAJEDI could host. It's just a idea I don't really know if we could do it, but here it is. I anyway like going to Star Wars Events. Well maybe we could do some type of Charity event and raise money for something. We could do this event at a park, I have a park in mind there's a really cool park near where I live called Apollo Park it's a really big park it's got a lake and a lot of room. My Dad and I think it is a really good place for Lightsaber training. This is still just a idea but here's more. We could get some members of the 501st to come down. The 501st will come down to events if you tell them. The LAJEDI would also be there and we could raise some money for a good cause. I like the idea of being able to do a event like that. Doing the event at Apollo Park is just a thought, because I know the park really well and I think it would be a cool place to hold a Star Wars event. We could also do this at another park. If we talk about holding a event like this maybe we could do it during spring break. So does anyone like the idea? I think it would be very good way to promote the LAJEDI. You know we could get a lot of new members with something like that. Again this is just an idea I could never do something like this on my own. I couldn't find any good picture of Apollo Park. I could only find one it's below. I'm going to Apollo Park on Saturday and I'll take some new pictures so everyone can see the park in more detail. So is this a cool idea?

In the summer, there's an event hoasted by TFN down at Mile Square Park in Orange county. Last year they did an all Star Wars BBQ similar to what you have in mind. Members of the 501st, Jedi Assembly, LAFF,SDFF, OCSWS, and LAjedi attend. This is an annual event. That way all the groups can get together. We can't do any money fundraisers since we are non-profit, and if we did that money has to go to charity.
Last year, LAjedi was represented by the Abbot, Jen, Myself, Baltazar and G-Force (which is also part of other groups that were there).

Yea I didn't really know if we could do that kind of event. It was a good idea. But it doesn't really matter. You know I thought more about it and it seemed to big for me to comprehend anyway. I just like going to events and having a good time. So I'm looking forward to Wizard World. That's going to be cool.

Yeah and as Ramz, Kitt and my wife Mary can attest to a lot of Rangers, well there is nothing posted yet on one of those other group message boards but I will let you know when the thread begins.

Ds brought up a good point however, although we are non profit aren't we allowed to collect funds for non profit type things such as upgrades for tear and wear and to purchase items for broke jedi/sith? although we wouldn't give it to them it would be part of lajedi. There is gotta be a legit way to raise funds for emergency type situations. Who knows im not an accountant...
