Creepy Hallow sounds like fun, I think we can do that if we finish early.

Unlike some people on other lists, my whole purpose in starting a thread is so lots of people contribute, not just me. That would make me feel stupid.

...Since this is a Filed trip thread, and we're in the Pre-production stages of our fan film then we should start planning field trips to scout locations for it.

Saw this on another thread. I think we need to make this a field trip --- in costume & with sabers, of course:
Hello everyone,
Just found out that there will be a Star Wars day at the Frank & Son toy show in the City of Industry on Saturday January 5, 2008. There will be Star Wars guests signing autographs there:
-Ray Park (Darth Maul) -Daniel Logan (Boba Fett) -Anthony Forrest ("Fixer" from the deleted Episode IV Luke & Biggs scene and the "These aren't the droids we are looking for" stormtrooper from Episode IV) -Bonnie Piesse (Aunt Beru from Episodes II & III)
Might be a good place to have an informal Fan Force meeting!
Here is the website for directions: Frank & Son

That sounds like a sweet event. I'm pretty sure I can safley say "I'm in". I also had an idea, for the first annual LA Jedi Kessel run.
This would entail, everyone dressing up in costume, and doing a city wide scavenger hunt. I figure we can do this sometime early next year as to give enough time to plan it out, and also get more members time to get costumes together. What do you guys think?

Yeah I am with Ramz and pretty much I would be in too especially since I still haven't been there and a fellow Luner works there.

So, I don't get it. You think we should volunteer to run a scavenger hunt at the Frank & Son event? If so, then define "city wide." This store is quite a drive from my house & I don't think I want to drive all the way out there; participate in a scavenger hunt all over L A;not get to be at the event very long because of that; and then drive all the back to West Los Angeles at the end of the day. I'm getting too old for this sort of thing.
You want to do a separate event? Open to all SW fans or just LA Jedi? Well then, who's going to supply the prizes? Did you want to ask if we can advertise it at the Frank & Son Star Wars day?
Either way, as far as I'm concerned showing up on the 5th IN COSTUME is pretty much a given.

HeeHeeHee! This looks like it's really shaping up to be a fun trip! We'll have to make sure & coordinate before hand. Maybe we can have a semiformal discussion at the XMas party & just maybe we can actually coordinate an intergroup trip.
I see that RamZ previously posted about this place back in August. Did I know you guys, yet, or had I just joined up? Anyhow, I don't think it's redundant posting because F&S is holding a special Star Wars event & all.
But, RamZ I still don't get the thing about the Scavenger hunt. I swear I wasn't being sarcastic or anything. I'd like to hear more about it.

Nope, what I meant was to do an "LA jedi only" event not at the Frank & Sons' event (even though I said "LAjedi only" we can have anyone we know participate with us). My idea is just for LAjedi to do a non-class event. Just to do something for fun, and what better way than to do a scavenger hunt all over L.A. Still planning this so I don't have any prize(s) yet. That's why I said maybe we can do this early next year so we can plan it out and have a wicked good time.
No worries, Varkei. I was thinking about having teams of maybe 3 or 4, making a check list of things to do or find all over town and meet up at the end of the day to see who got more. I was also thinking about getting a video camera per team to document it, and also have a stationary crew (which won't be on a team to log in after a station is complete). <---Via cell phone since we don't have any comm-links.

I still hope you had fun when you thought about what I said, because that's the main goal of what I want. For everyone to have a great time.

What fun we had today! ;D I think L A Jedi had about 14-15 members in attendance, maybe even as many people as the 501st! We should definitely do stuff like this more often.
Luckily, the weather held for our field trip, but it was a very wise move to postpone class to the 12th & 13th, because it's raining again, pouring in fact. (I mention this not because I don't think the rest of you can look out a window, but because I think I live the closest to the park.)

I had a blast today, even if it did rain (all 5 drops) after the massive group shot and my Ankle hurting at the end of the day.
...Lets see how many out of the approx. 25 people we plugged LA JEDI to actually join up?
