I know VK was saying there will be ANOTHER(Greek Festival) and that would be a great way to celebrate the sucess of your Final Exams.

I'm willing to hit up the LA Co fair in costume, it shouldn't be as hot as SDCCI, and Celebrating the end of my finals at Greek Festival sounds like an Excellent idea. I doubt the Lobster Festival would be a Costume event, though.

Not unless you are coming dressed like the Gordons Fisherman, plus you really wouldn't like to get that butter sauce on your costume. ;D

what if we all pitch in for a LA Jedi Booth. do some recruiting and advertising. it cant be to much my moms doing it. this way we'll have more of a reason for dressing up, instead of just showing up dropping it on everybody.

Good Idea JSD, I like it the La Jedi Recruiting Office, Pomona Branch open for business, tonight I put a post on LiningUp.Net and we will see if it generates any new members.

well the only problem is the price. I called the fair and talked to the vendors there and the running price for one weekend is $700 which is more than a little pocket change.
if we all wanted to pitch in on the price it might be more manageable.
but if were looking for something more economical there is a trade and craft fair over by my house that's only $20 a night for a booth. its free to get in and its every friday night. if you want I could talk to the program director and see if he'd let us put on a little LA Jedi stunt show later in the evening.

OUCH!!! $700 is a little deep even if we all chipped in. The $20 one sounds a lot better for our current budget.

"Join the Jedi, see the galaxy" then we could have a vid with jedi flying ships, and fighting battles, the whole Navy/Marine recruiting thing... have a poster of a girl in a Jedi robe and a slogan saying "i wish i were able to be a Jedi" ok, i'll stop bastardizing (way crazy spelling) the recruting ads of old... BUT you get the idea...

that whole marine style recruiting is kinda what I had in mind.lol
IM in to put down my $35 to get a booth, but were not making any money off of this so I dont see why george would have a problem. were more of a nonprofit club/charity.
I thik we may need to talk to NY JEdi and find out what our rights are as an extensiopn of them.

I can get tickets for Knott Scary Farm for $28 for 9/27, 9/28, 9/29, 9/30, 10/3, 10/4, 10/7, 10/10, 10/11, 110/17, 10/24, 10/29 & 10/30.
Tickets for Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays & 10/31(for which we already have plans) are all $34.00.
I can't make it on the evening of Friday 10/5, but almost any other evening is more or less do-able, except for the evenings I game (currently Thursdays, but may become Tuesdays.) If anyone is interested & we could set something definite up, I could collect the money this weekend at practice and pick up the tickets during the week.

The Haunted house idea sounds way cool if we plan out to go as a group (so aslong as it's worth the $15). Do you have the exact location/address for it?

Unfortunately running out of weekends to do Oktoberfest but if people were interested, I would volunteer to be the DD and it isn't far from my house would be willing to shuttle people from here.

The haunted house is located at 3101 Overland Ave. It's right between where we practice and my house.
They said they would stay open until midnight if enough people were there. I was thinking, maybe Thursday night 10/25 right after practice. But, 10/20 is the only date that's out for me.

Is anyone up for quitting this Monday's practice at about 9:30 & checking this place out?
