OK I just got my Luke saber back from my friend and a whole bunch of the bulbs are burnt out. I was wondering if someone could teach me how to repair it/ replace the bulbs or teach me how to upgrade it to a LUXEON type saber. if anyone could help me out there It would be most appreciated

Jacen it sounds like you have some burnt out Led's and I don't know if it is practical to try to replace them since they are in a string of 32-64 and it will happen again. I recommend conversion and that way your blade would be fully fightable and removable. I have never actually done one but have always wanted to and it doesn't look especially hard to do or you could send it in to Ultra. I wasn't sure which Luke F/X version you have but here is a basic tutorial to give you an idea: p101.ezboard.com/fphineaslightsaberexchange62257frm4.showMessage?topicID=47.topic

Hate to sound like a nagging Mom, but, one word here guys: Workshop.
I was trying to practice on the patio last night and now the buzzing thing in my light saber is out. Can that be fixed.
Gonna check out Gforce's tutorial and maybe get the stuff & see if I can manage on my own. But, one word : Workshop.

yeah I saw that tutorial. but that only teaches me to take apart my saber. I'M looking to convert it, if its possible.
sending it to ultra saber is out of the question. the cost is way to high. my girlfriend would kill me if she found out I spent a $120 on a saber I already own.
but Id like to sit down with someone and have them go through step by step and teach me how to convert or build a Luxeon saber. I know theres tutorials on the net but Id like to have a live instructor in case I have questions. Ive heard of to many people destroying their sabers trying to do it themselves.

VK what happened you mean the sound is out? I am crossing my fingers. JSD I know of other tutorials on the CSS that show the whole conversion but since there are different Luke Versions I would need to know which one exactly. Like I said I have never personally converted a MR/Fx since mine is still fine(I guess I baby it) but I would definitely be up for doing one, with you I have been dying to do one.

Im willing to sacrifice my Luke ROTJ saber to the gods of knowledge. Im up for it next class if you want or even better next Thursday.
all I have is the saber. I don't have any other parts for it, but I do get paid the week after next, if you need me to buy or reimburse you for anything.

JSD I will be at class next Thursday and let's take a look and see what can be done, unfortunately I have no conversion kits on hand, so you would have to get the parts needed.

I mean, I was trying to practice a couple of the moves I learned last weekend on the patio in my apartment courtyard. I dropped my lightsaber on the concrete and it stopped buzzing when lit. It still lights up though.

VK next time I see you I will take a look at it, yeah I have the same problem I only have a small patch of grass in the back yard to practice, the other night if it wasn't for the plastic chair that deflected it just right my saber would have been in the pool. I don't think it is a Mon Calamari Rated Model. I will be hoping and praying for the best that your Mace is Ok.

man, I'm not having any luck with my sabers today. both my maul saber and vader saber are doing the same thing and that's turning themselves on and off repeatedly.
any ideas what it might be? I'm thinking loose wire.

HMMM Maybe are you coming tommorrow night ? If not what I would check first is make sure the Batteries are Okay then check the contacts that they are clean and making a good connection. If nothing else works I will check them out at Practice Sat or Sun I will be there both days.
