For those of you who wish to join us to visit Dominic, the child with- and I could be wrong on the illness- Spinal Muscular Atrophy? SMA are the initials......
John, AKA Kayden Jorell AKA Gilean-Grey, brought up an excellent point that I wanted to share with everyone who is joining us:
It may well be very hard to meet the child and not be overcome emotionally.
Since we are all meeting at the park before we caravan over, perhaps we could all chat for a moment, to get our game faces on, and try to discuss suggestions for keeping it together.
I suggest if one of us is going to cry, (Yea, that'll probably be me) perhaps they just turn and go outside so the child or the family doesn't see?
Maybe if everyone shares their own tips with how they deal with personal, upsetting situations, some of us, like ME! Who wear our hearts on our sleeves can take your advice and try to apply it when meeting the child.
Thanks to RamZ for spearheading this operation and thanks to John for taking the challenge wholeheartedly, coming up with a presentation to the child, calling him the chosen one, then summoning the group of us inside.
I am really, really, excited about going to see this child.
In my heart, i feel, without a doubt, this is the best thing LA Jedi has ever done.

I am really, really, excited about going to see this child. In my heart, i feel, without a doubt, this is the best thing LA Jedi has ever done. This has helped me...well for a long time. When we realize the travesties that life brings, the one's that we know exist. Violence, pestilence, hunger, greed, the trivialities that we suffer from seem to become insignificant. What happens to this child is a cruel fate, that should not have befalled him but it is the normalcy of life. As such we must look at the bigger picture, draw from there at least enough strenght to place our hearts aside else we would cry for the vast majority of our existance. We must also realize what we are doing, will grant him a measure a peace, a memory which will follow him through this passage of life, potentially to his passage to whatever other side may exist. As such we must give him our strenght, our fortitude and our dreams. We must carry the flow of life the desire to help as humans to give him a better life, a longer life. If we focus on those facts, then there is no need to cry for him...only to hope. Kayden Jorell grey jedi knight

You guys are making me tear up just talking about it. (and I'm not being facetious, either.)
It did seem to me that there are a lot of people going already. More might be a little too overwhelming to him.
But, I think it would be nice if any of us who can afford it contribute a few bucks towards the Yankee cap.

I'll be coming with everyone on March 30th to help cheer up the sick child. I think it's a really cool thing to do. Does anyone still want me to dress up as Darth Vader? It's a nice idea but I don't have much of a Darth Vader Costume to dress up in. I only have the voice changer mask. Well anyway I'll see everyone there.

You can give it to RamZ or myself at class Thursday, unless, of course, you can make it to see Dominic, in which case, you should give it to him!!!!

If you can go, it's better that you present it to him personally. If you can't then give it to her or myself on Thursday. Master DS. I posted on the Costuming Thread pictures of a home made Vader costume (using the voice changer mask) which may come in handy. I suggest asking Shogun how he managed to make his costume look good using cardboard. If you do end up making a Vader Costume. Just remember wear all black and you can't go wrong. ...Don't worry about looking perfect. We're not a Cannon group, and to him you will definatley be Vader as long as you look like Darth Vader and are in Character .

It was an honor to participate.
Dominic was adorable. About 10-15 of us were waiting in a small conference room, most of us in costume. When they brought him in, he was a little overwhelmed and wanted to leave. But, when we started visiting him in small groups in his room, he seemed delighted. He wanted to "kill" all the male Jedi & Sith, but wanted all the women as his allies. And he's only 4? Kid learns fast!(Kurey was spared because he was dressed as Indiana Jones.) Dominic had such vitality it was hard to remember how sick he is.
Thank you RamZ for giving us the opportunity to do this.

Honestly, this kid is f**kING awsome! All other sentiment escapes me right now. This is most definately ranks up there with the coolest things I, personally, have ever done. And I'm sure most everybody who was able to make it feels the same. I'm putting my vote to go ahead and make this dude an honorary member of the LA Jedi!!

I would like to second that motion. Abbott, could you set up a poll? Or, should we just make it unanimous?

No question about it. He's definatley an honorary LAjedi member. I
He thanked us all this morning. His mom called me up to thank us, and Dominic was insisting to speak with me. I had a nice little chat with him over the phone wants to us again soon. He also asked if we were going to see him at Comic-Con.
For those who plan on going to SDCCI 08. Prepare to Duel, his lightsaber skills are most impressive.
I want to thank all of LAjedi, for making yesterday possible. It wouldn't have been the same with our everyone's help! -RamZ
