Hi all
Well, my Prophecy Ultrasaber arrived today, but the big question is: just how exactly do I open it to get batteries into the thing? It only just came with the sword and a little crystal--nothing else in the box. Am I missing something? Do I need some special tool to open it? Or am I completely missing the proper way to go about trying to open the saber?
Thanks.

There are no No0bish questions, only no0bs. Just kidding.
phantomdouggernaut, what's up bro.
The little crystal thing is pretty much useless. Just a decoration.
I'm not too familiar with that hilt, but you can ask Tori. I do believe he has that one. Feel free to PM him.

this item should have screw on / off pommel. the battery back is at the pommel (end of hilt).
the crystal is to remind you that the lightsaber power is from the crystal, just set it aside.
i don't have this item. let me know if that works, if not bring it next class, and if i am there i will help you.

Okay, got it open. Turns out, the end cap is extremely difficult to take off for almost everyone. I had to wedge a knife in between that and the hilt to pry it off. Batteries are in now, and it's brighter than my MR saber. Good grip, too.

Old topic, I know...
But here's a little advice for the Pommel caps on the Prophecy.
Use a thin tool to gently pry open the cap. Once you have the cap off, drill two small holes in the bottom.
Take a piece of leather cord and make a secure knot on one end. Thread the cord through one of the holes, working from the "inside of the pommel cap to the outside. (So the knot is in the inside.)
Thread the other end from the outside to the inside.
Adjust your length, then cut and knot the other end.
This will create a loop that you can use to pull the cap out a little easier.
Another solution is to drill and tap a 10-32 hole in the center of the cap. then set a 10-32 thumbscrew from TCSS into the hole with some epoxy. This will give you something to grip to pull the pommel out.
The same method can be used to install a D-ring as well.
